RASPBERRY PI ZERO QUICK REVIEW

The Raspberry Pi Zero is the new smaller and cheaper version of Raspberry series of computers developed by Raspberry Pi foundation.

The device is available at insanely low price of only $5. It is a 32 bit computer which can run desktop Linux after setting it up. You get a lot for just $5 but remember it is just a circuit board you will need to spend some extra bucks to make it up and running.

Pros:

  • Cheap and small in Size

  • Great for Projects like Home automation, Robotics and etc
  • On the Go Linux Machine great for learning Java and Python programming 
  • Has a micro USB port for network connection so that you can connect a wifi modem and use it as wireless machine.
  • Small in size means power efficient 
  • Can be powered by portable Power bank
Cons:
  • No GPIO header pins 
  • You only get 512MB of RAM
  • No Ethernet port
  • Full size HDMI port and USB ports are missing 
  • You have to buy a mini HDMI to HDMI and micro USB to USB adapters 
  • You will need to spent $20-$30 more on the adapters and cases to make it up for running

Conclusion:

 If you have all adapters, mouse and keyboard just lying around the house then   for just $5 Raspberry pi is total worth it device. Or if you are into building stuff then you should totally consider about getting yourself one. But if you are new to all of this or require it for some heavy experiments I will suggest you to go for Raspberry Pi 2. It has 1GB of RAM, full size HDMI port, 4 USB ports and a 3,5mm audio jack.
