According to recent reports Netflix, which is undoubtedly the most popular video streaming service is planning to produce and distribute the live action adaptation of Death Note. The production will start in June, Netflix is currently in the final negotiation stage to secure the distribution rights.
For those poor souls who don’t know what Death Note is, Death Note is a manga series which is then adapted into anime. The series centers around a high school student named Light who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone by writing the victim’s name and picturing his face.He goes on a personal crusade and moves to kill all evil in the world and become God. He does this all in his new name, Kira, and declares himself the law and justice of the world. The series then introduces a charterer named “L”, a brilliant detective who works in secret to track down and arrest Light.
Netflix will be distributing the live action adaption with the guest director Adam Wingard.
