Amazon has finally launched the Amazon Prime Video Service in India. Amazon Prime Video service is a video streaming service similar to the Netflix. Amazon Prime members will now be able to stream TV shows and movies.
Amazon India launched the prime subscription service back in July at an Introductory Price of 499 per year. Since Amazon has now launched its Prime Video Service, the subscription prices are expected to grow up to 999 per year. Amazon is now a direct competitor of Hotstar and Netflix which launched in India earlier this year. While the other subscription services are only giving you the video streaming membership, Amazon subscribers can get the other shopping perks too.
If you are an Amazon Prime member you can start using the service either by visiting the website or by downloading the Amazon Prime Video app from the Google Play Store. Amazon announced they are collaborating with local productions like T-Series, Dharma Production, Vishesh Films, Green Gold Animation to bring the regional content to the Indian viewers. There is an option to select the video quality based on your network strength and data limits apart from that there is also an option to download content for offline viewing.
Netflix has been getting criticized for poor catalog content since the day of its launch, will Amazon be able to solve this problem?
