In the recent interview with Red Bull, director Andy Tudor said the newly announced Project Cars 2 will not release on Nintendo Switch.
Tudor said, “In terms of Nintendo Switch, I can say probably that Project Cars franchise will not be coming to Nintendo Switch currently. Similar to the Wii U, it looks amazing. I’ve held it in my hands, and the concept of taking it on the go, yeah, I totally agree: we’re all gadget freaks, so we kind of wants to, but equally I just don’t think it’s going to be possible.”
Tudor did not give any details on why it is not possible to bring the racing game on Nintendo Switch. Despite its underpowered hardware, Nintendo Switch is clearly capable of handling a car racing game. It looks like the developers don’t want to release a teardown version of their racing game. Same thing happened with the first Project Car game when the company announced it is compatibility with Wii U, but later said can’t come to Wii U.
Project Cars 2 is currently in development for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, it is expected to release later this year.
Stay tuned for the updates.
