Cemu developers don’t know yet why the new Legend of Zelda is running slow

Cemu

Yesterday, a developer who goes by the name  Exzap posted a video of The Legende of Zelda: Breath of The Wild running on the Cemu emulator. It was running on a PC with an i7-4790K, 8GB RAM and a GTX 780. It’s a really good sign that developers have somehow managed to run the game this early on their emulator.

The Cemu emulator can run the new legend of Zelda. However, running and playable are two entirely different things. The video showed Breath of The Wild running at 10-15 frames per second with the audio turned off because of white noise. Following this issue, Exzap said, “I don’t yet know precise details about why the game is running slow. That said, CPU bound games usually profit from improvements to the recompiler/JIT core. Additionally, Cemu is rather young so there is also optimization potential almost everywhere in the code. My guess is that we will see small incremental in speed for almost every future Cemu release.”

Let’s not be skeptical, Cemu is a pretty new Wii emulator that’s been in development since 2015. Considering the emulator can run the new Legend of Zelda just a few days after its launch is a really big achievement. The developers are working hard to make it even better.

Stay tuned for the updates.
