Last week Acer took the internet by storm after announcing the ultrathin Razer Blade competitor, the Predator Triton 700. While the Triton 700 series is focused on the high-end gaming ultrabook market, Acer also revealed a new budget gaming laptop series. The new Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming notebook line comes in 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch display variants.
The entry level Predator Helios 300 is priced at $1,299, it will come with 15.6-inch Full HD display panel, 7th Gen Intel i5 processor (7300HQ), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti GPU, 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 128GB SSD alongside a 1TB hard drive. Check out some key features below,
- 7th Gen Intel Core i7 (7700HQ) or i5 processor (7300HQ)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or 1050Ti GPU
- Up to 16GB DDR4 memory
- 6-inch or 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display

The Predator Helios 300 feels like a really well-built machine and its red and black design gives it a classic gaming laptop look. Both the 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch variants come with an AeroBlade 3D Fan with ultra-thin metal blades to keep the laptops cool under high loads.
The port selection is also decent, it features one USB 3.1 Type-C port, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. Both variants come loaded with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony for better audio experience.
The entry level Predator Helios 300 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch variants are respectively priced at $1,299 and $1,399. Both laptops are expected to hit the market by the end of second quarter.
