Recent HomePod firmware confirms the upcoming iPhone’s design and face unlock feature

According to reports, Apple’s upcoming high-end iPhone model will feature bezel less edge to edge display and the new face unlock feature. The rumors regarding the new design have been swirling around the internet for months now but nothing was assured. According to some developers, a recent HomePod firmware update confirms the new design and the incorporation of face unlock feature.

Troughton-Smith (Steve T-S) broke the news on Twitter saying, “ I can confirm reports that Homepod’s firmware reveals the existence of upcoming iPhone’s infra-red face unlock in BiometricKit and elsewhere.” Apparently, the firmware update contains some lines of code referring to “BKFaceDetect” which according to developers is short term for the “Biometric Kit”. The code also contains the image of alleged upcoming iPhone. Check out the details below,

The fact that this image is present in the Apple’s official HomePod firmware confirms the rumors regarding the new display design. It is also reported that the special edition iPhone model will ditch the beloved TouchID for the new face unlock feature. Apparently, Apple wanted to integrate the TouchID in the display but failed to succeed. The standard edition iPhone will still feature the TouchID. More details will be revealed once Apple officially launches the next iPhones.

Stay tuned for the updates.
