According to a recent report by EW, some hackers have managed to breach the HBO’s servers. The attackers have successfully collected more than 1.5 terabytes of data, which reportedly includes an episode from the “Ballers” and “Room 104”. The hackers also claim to have some important details related to the next week’s Game of Thrones episode, which will be apparently leaked soon.
The attackers contacted some reporters via an e-mail saying, “Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh, I forget to tell. It’s [sic] HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him. HBO is failing.”
HBO is reportedly working really hard to get over this problem. The CEO Richard Plepler says, “I have absolutely no doubt that we will navigate our way through this successfully. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold.”
At this moment we only know the hackers have collected 1.5 terabytes of data, it could or could not have some information related to HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones. After entertainment networks like Sony and Netflix now HBO became the new target of cyber criminals.
Stay tuned for the updates.
