iOS 11: The Control Center buttons don’t actually turn off the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth antennas

Apple has publically released the new iOS 11 for the iPhones and the iPads. The company just confirmed that unlike the previous versions, turning off Bluetooth or Wi-Fi from the control center doesn’t actually turn off the radio antennas.

The Control Center buttons are only there to connect or disconnect your devices from the accessories. The radio antennas will keep running in the background to help you take the full advantage of the following features,

  • AirPlay
  • AirDrop
  • Apple Watch
  • Instant Hotspot
  • Location Services
  • Apple Pencil in case of iPad Pro

Apple said it is not a problem, they have intentionally added these features for your convenience. If you want to turn the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth completely off then you have to do it the old fashion way through the settings menu. So if you have already upgraded to the iOS 11 make sure to visit the settings menu if you are running low on the battery.

Some iPhone users are also having the problems with the App Store connectivity. My friend recently upgraded his iPhone 7 Plus to the iOS 11 and now he can’t connect to the App Store. He tried everything and finally decided to contact the Apple Support where the advised him to downgrade the operating system since the iOS 11 is “still in the beta”. Which makes no sense at all because Apple has already made it public. You can check the full conversation here.

Stay tuned for the updates.
