First look at Pokemon GO
11:45
Niantic labs just posted the first look of the upcoming augmented reality Pokemon game on their blog. Pokemon GO will allow its players to explore their real world surroundings to catch the Pokemon. Pokemon depending on the type will appear on their native environments, for example the Water type Pokemon will only appear near Lakes, rivers or Oceans.
Niantic labs posted the screenshots of the game and explained the game play quoting " Players will walk to hatch previously-acquired eggs that might reveal new Pokémon. Eggs and other special items such as Poké Balls can be acquired at PokéStops - located at interesting places such as public art installations, historical markers, museums and monuments."
A few days ago we saw some sort of the first game play video of Pokemon Go, and a glimpse of how the game will look like when it comes out. The leaked game play video wasn't official it was just some dude playing the game and casting it on TV, you can check out the video below.
We are not yet sure about availability of the game. The Pokemon GO will be released for Android and iOS for free with possible in App purchases (Brace yourselves micro transactions are coming). It will be either the biggest hit of mobile gaming or the biggest disappointment of all time. Either way the hype is real!
Stay tuned for updates.
